Life's In A Mess?

When your life is in the midst of a turbulance and you feel like It would go on and on, seems like it would never end. You would wonder to yourself, can life gets even more worst? And to your surprise, It would really do. Here in the Philippines, we are currently facing our battles against Corona Virus. At we're almost at the end of our community quarantine. With all the drama that the world is facing right now, never in my wildest Imagination did I fathom that I would face dramas of my own. I mean, being quarantined is a big battle already. So what could possibly go wrong at this point? Before COVID-19 struck the Philippines, one of my aunt came here to settle some things with her then house. I knew that one day she would kick me out of her house (which was originally my grandfather's) and so to avoid future dilemma, I decided to move out. I stayed in an apartment that my father is renting with my sister and her husband. Due to some misunderstandings, I had to move back te

In a time and place where technology advancement is very rampant, it is hard to imagine that one can live without the aid of mobile phones and internet. Living without these are almost -if not- impossible especially to those who were born in this generation. Due to humans' dependency on technology, we can often hear some people complain about the excessive use of it. Thus the term mobile or internet addiction occured. Everyone, from children to adults, have an access to the internet. There are different apps and social media platforms that can be used depending on one's preferences. If you're up to dating, there are apps such as Tinder and Tantan. If you are more of a gamer, there are various apps you can choose from Candy Crush to Mobile Legends. And if you are looking for something to entertain you and inform you at the same time, there is the ever popular Youtube. Back in the days, Youtube is commonly used for watching our favorite drama or anime episodes which we co

Farewell to the "grestest" man

August 31, 2018 was the day I bid my farewell to my grandfather, Dr. Sixto Felipe. I wanted to share his battle for his life before but everything was just too critical for us to even give me time to post about him. When he got out of the hospital, I wanted to post an update about him, but seeing his condition makes me focus on what is more important, spending more time with him. When he died, i no longer have the courage to post a story about him even more. Even up to this day, I am still grieving, but I still want to do this as a sign of my fervent respect and love for my grand father. Dr. Sixto Felipe, was the first doctor, in his family. all of his siblings were teachers and he was brave enough to take a different path from the others. Some maybe even think that he is full of himself. Since he came from a "not so rich" family, he had a hard time finishing his studies. During the time that he was taking medicine, he met my grandmother. I'd like to believe that it was a

Hidden Treasures of Eastern Samar: Minasangay and Canhugas

When I was still in elementary, every year during summer vacation, me and my grandmother always went to my parents hometown to spend our vacation. Llorente is a City that can be found in the eastern part of Samar, an island in the Visayas region of the Philippines. Since my grandmother wasn't the adventurous type, we just always spent time with my family in the usual places that can be found in Llorente like the Tongkip Beach. After my grandmother passed away, I wasn't able to visit my parents hometown until the year 2010. But during that time, I was hesitant to go outside because I don't want my skin to get burned. So for the whole two weeks of my vacation, I stayed inside the house sleeping. Now after almost eight years after my last vacation, I once again come back to where my parents live and this time, I promised myself not to spent my vacation sleeping inside the house. And I believe I made the right decision because I just found hidden paradise in the land of Eastern

How to Spend Your Birthday the Right Way?

Image
New Year, Valentine's Day, Christmas, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day are some of the occasions that we celebrate once a year. But probably one of the occasions that we really take time to prepare is our birthday. To think of it, it's not really that exciting to know that you have aged a year again. Is our birthday really worth celebrating? Or are we just wasting a lot of money for getting older? Getting old is not something that we should really celebrate, but nevertheless it is part of human life. What we should really celebrate is the fact that our lives have been extended for a complete whole year; not everyone is given that opportunity. But when can we say that we had a well spent birthday? When I was still a little kid, I used to be excited whenever my birthday comes. I think that it is fancy to get old. I always tell to myself that I want to get older because I want to have the freedom that the adults have. Now that I am old enough, that excitement that I felt slowl

A Solemn New Year? Hello 2018

Image
New year has always been celebrated with a lot of noise and fireworks all around here in the Philippines. It is because we believed that by doing so, we will be able to shoo away bad luck and welcome good luck all throughout the year. It is also because of these that every year during new year's eve that many Filipinos were being rushed to the hospital due to fire cracker accidents. But this new year is way different from the past years. Every year I noticed na paunti na ng paunti ang nagpapaputok tuwing new year's eve. I just don't know if it's because of growing economic crisis o dahil nagiging aware na ang mga tao about the use of fireworks and firecrackers. Though every year naman ay laging may advisory sa T.V na mag-ingat sa paggamit ng paputok, it was only this year that the government actually implemented some restrictions for fireworks and firecrackers usage. Ngayon, may mga certain types lang ng paputok na pwede sa mga residential area, habang m

Life is Short, Farewell Tino

I ended my day today with sadness in my heart. As me and my spiritual family gather in the church for our prayer meeting, a disturbing news was delivered to us. A former youth member had been stabbed and brought to the hospital. As we heared the news, we immidiately gathered and prayed. After the prayer meeting, his aunt, cousin and younger sister went to the hopital but unfortunatelly when they arrived there, he was already out of life. Lemuel Relox, also known as Tino, is around 21 years old, at hindi ako makapaniwala sa mura niyang edad ay lilisanin niya ang mundong ito. A part of me is feeling guilt dahil ang daming oras ang nasayang. Kung sana nakausap namin siya at hinikayat na bumalik sa church, siguro iba ang nangyari ngayon. But what is done, is done. The only thing that we can do is to move on and learn the lessons and correct our mistakes in the future. During the time na may sakit ang Lolo ko, lagi kong nasasabi sa sarili ko na ang lungkot ng buhay. Ipapanganak ka sa mu
