From Brian Redmon to Jericho Arceo: Worth Watching Youtubers

In a time and place where technology advancement is very rampant, it is hard to imagine that one can live without the aid of mobile phones and internet. Living without these are almost -if not- impossible especially to those who were born in this generation. Due to humans' dependency on technology, we can often hear some people complain about the excessive use of it. Thus the term mobile or internet addiction occured.

Everyone, from children to adults, have an access to the internet. There are different apps and social media platforms that can be used depending on one's preferences. If you're up to dating, there are apps such as Tinder and Tantan. If you are more of a gamer, there are various apps you can choose from Candy Crush to Mobile Legends. And if you are looking for something to entertain you and inform you at the same time, there is the ever popular Youtube.

Back in the days, Youtube is commonly used for watching our favorite drama or anime episodes which we could've missed to watch. Most of the videos uploaded to it are clips from NBA, fan made videos, and some personal home videos that the uploader wanted to share. Back then, ads are not a thing. But due to this generation's innovation, Youtube became a platform for people who wants to share their adventures, stories, knowledge, and talents. And because of this, one by one youtuber became a thing until people took it as a career and uses it to earn for a living-----depending on what they can bring onto the table.

Because vast amout of information and entertainment value became accessible to almost all around the world, it is easy to be absorbed by these things. But we have to be reminded that not everything we watch over Youtube or in the internet as a whole is beneficial. So, if we are to spend our time browsing and watching youtube contents, we have to atleast make sure that it is valuable and worth wasting our time with. As a person who is guilty as charged when it comes to excessive youtube browsing, here are the youtubers that I have come across that are absolutely worth watching both local (Philippines) and foriegn.

Brian Redmon

This youtuber is more than just the good looks, but if your up to gorgeous youtuber, his face value is certainly a plus. His youtube contents usually tackles guy's perspecrive when it comes to dating, relationship, and even taboo topics such as sex and virginity; and vice versa. So if you are someone trying to crack what's on your boyfriend or crush's mind, he's the youtuber you must watch. With a little bit of comedy (though unintentionally) and information, spice it up with Brian's character and charisma, this youtuber is someone who is worth watching.

Joshua Salom

Ever wondered how a filipino student cope up with his studies in Japan? Then Joshua Salom is a youtuber you need to watch. His vlogs shows and destroys all the stereotyping when it comes on how japanese treats filipino and vice versa. Joshua proves that having good friendship between two people with different culture, in a different country is possible with the help of quirkiness and being open-minded.

MRJKPOP

If you are into music or kpop in particular, you have probably watched reaction videos. And ofcourse, we like it if the reactor says nice words to our favorite singers or band. However, due to fans unpredictable behaviour, reactors tend to sugar-coat their comments to avoid bashers. If not, some tends to be bias and rather give comments on physical attributes than the musicality and technicality itself. MRJKPOP is a reactor who isn't harsh nor biased and gives comments beyond looks and music videos' aesthetics. If you're up to know if your idols are as talented as you think they are, try checking out his channel.

Tania Levy

There's a saying that if you want to be successful on youtube, lookout for filipino viewers. From one reactor to another, Tania probably gained a lot of attention when she started reacting to filipino singers. But unlike any reactor, she's straight forward when it comes to yas and nays of a singers technicalities and vocal capabilities. Aside from reacting, she also gives tidbits of vocal lessons on what techniques the singer uses in the particular video that she is reacting to. Entertainment, information, and education in one video is a big thumbs up.

Thoughty2

You wanna get smarter but afraid that learning might be boring? Well, Thoughty2 just might be the channel for you. Full of information and fun facts delivered in a fun way. And guaranteed that information posted on his channel are well researched before going out into the public.

Jericho Arceo

Last but definitely not the least, our very own Jericho Arceo. Known for his faith in Christ, Jericho is not scared to speak his mind regarding social and political issues in the Philippines. Addressing each concern by not judging other people but in a Christ-like perspective added with enough amount of savvy and quirkiness. What makes him one of a kind vlogger, is how he encorporates word of God in ---if not all---- almost every content he uploads on youtube.

Is there a bottomline for us to say that a youtube content is worth to watch or not? Probably, it's still up to one's perspective. But as for me, as long as I gain something new, whether knowledge or information, it's definitely not a waste of time. But we must be mindful of how we spend our time and set our priorities straight to avoid consuming it on things that doesn't really matter.
